Asian American Humane Society (AAHS) is a California State Registered Non-profit and Covenant House Teen Volunteer Association in America that supports the mission of Covenant House California and NY. We are Covenant House Teen volunteers, fundraisers, and advocates for homeless and at-risk teens. The Power to Change is the name of a Human Rights Project by the Covenant House Volunteer Association. Through the volunteer events, including fundraising, petitioning for the Human Rights campaign, and working directly with the local legislature, the AAHS is dedicated to being the catalyst to change for American teenagers trapped in poverty and human trafficking.
Life-Changing Experience - Youth Leadership & Volunteer
Community service is often a graduation prerequisite for high school students. In addition, community service participation is often taken heavily into consideration by college admissions offices. Amongst the myriad of causes and service opportunities for teenagers to embark upon, the AAHS hopes to provide opportunities for volunteer work not only as another line on their resume but as a life-changing experience. The AAHS provides opportunities for teenagers to expand their horizons, foster meaningful relationships, and open their eyes to compassion and empathy. The AAHS exists to help abolish human trafficking conditions for teenagers in California. With a close relationship with the Covenant House, a nationally recognized non-profit with an excellent reputation for aiding homeless teens in the U.S., our organization firmly stands to provide the resources for teenagers to help pull their peers out of unfortunate circumstances.
